OUR VISION: SAFE | CARING | HAPPY

‘Muntham House School will give you a fresh start, and new beginning. A chance to find the things you love to do and enjoy learning. The adults will care for you, listen to you, challenge you and never give up on you’.

ARUNDEL FLOOR

Arundel floor is a nurturing environment for pupils from Year 9 to Year 11. On Arundel, we look to enable our young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social, emotional and educational development. This is achieved through the creation of opportunities and safe spaces for our pupils to develop their social skills and acquire new life skills, at the same time encouraging them to find their voice and autonomy towards decisions that affect their lives, both now and in the future.

Arundel floor values are underpinned by the principles of social justice, equality and the acceptance of diversity. We recognise the value of fostering positive actions and choices to promote a sense of belonging and a sense of community, looking to prepare our young people for the world they will be entering and for them to be able to participate actively and positively in society.

The accommodation consists of a large common room and a fully fitted kitchen/dining area. 6 Double Rooms and 4 Single Rooms. On Arundel, the pupils learn how to budget for meals and outings, learn how to wash their own clothes and cook several healthy meals for themselves and others. The key workers are supportive every step of the way, helping them apply for colleges, studying for exams and producing different challenges to help them prepare for future living.

The Leisure Curriculum

All our activities are geared towards aiding our pupils to gain success in building relationships, confidence and social/independence skills. Activities include a cooking club, train travel training, youth club, and sporting academies, to name but a few. The leisure curriculum focuses heavily on independence skills, the importance of positive inclusion and, most importantly, they look to be fun and relevant for each young person.

The Staff Team

On Arundel floor, there are three staff working at any one time. The staff are here to advocate for the pupils, role model, and provide relevant experiences whilst liaising closely with parents/carers and any external agencies to ensure that we meet the needs and work towards the outcomes of each young person.
